  • Screen size and projector help

The part of my garage I'm going to use for a simulator is 13 ft wide by 20 ft tall. Should I get a screen that is 13 wide by 10 tall, but that is 4:3. Or I should use 16:9? How much room behind the screen do I need to obsorb the ball imact?

then to ceiling mount. Do I need to get a 10 ft ceiling mount pole to bring the projector down to 10 ft from floor. Or can I mount the projector only 2 ft from the ceiling but aim downward to the screen at a 45 degrees? Would that work?

thanks for any advise in advance

Actually i like 16:10 best. It's a good allround ratio for both movies and sim. Not all projectors have this. If you have the space go for widescreen unless you stand too close to the screen (less than 10ft) Check if you can try both as this can be more personal taste.

You need about 10" behind the screen, but you can get by with 7-8" if you put something heavy behind the screen. Mattress topper or mowing blankets etc

I think you might run into problems if you don't lower the projector from your high ceiling, dont think you need to lower it 10ft but maybe 7-8?

Most projectors need to be about at the top of the image you need keystone. Keystone isn't ideal so lowering the projector is best. The room behind the screen depends on the screen. Some need more that others. You can add netting or other stuff to keep it closer to the wall. I have netting and memory foam and my gap is 8inches. I've used a Protee screen and HQ2 before that.
