4k Short Throw

There looks to be some reasonably priced 4k hdr projectors on the market now, but the problem is that none of them are short throw. My understanding is that the only difference between ST and LT is the lens. Anyone know if any projector can be turned into a short throw?

I think 4k would make a big difference for these sims with such big screens that are close up.

Short answer is yes, you can get an add-on lens to change the throw ratio.
Not sure how practical it is to pull it off though.

Look at some home theater sites. Guys used to use external anamorphic lenses quite a bit. Basically a "sled" or bracket and an external lens attached to the projector.
