    Resolution Question

I have a native 1080p (GT1080) projector. To project a 4:3 image, is it better to just set the projector to 4:3 and keep the computer to 16:9....or force the computer the a 4:3 resolution and use "native" on the projector?

I think you should set 4:3 on the computer and on the projector

I have the same projector, i leave it in 16:9 on the computer and force projector to 4:3. I don't want to look at a 4:3 image on the monitor since the monitor is 16:9 format.

Thank you. How does it look? What mode do you use...like game or vivid? I'll have some lights on in the garage, just not over the hitting are. I'm still building my room, so haven't had to a change to mount and try different settings. Just trying to gather all this info so I'm ready to roll once complete.

I just got this same projector and was also struggling with how to do this, given a widescreen (16:9) monitor and a 4:3 projector screen. Also, couldnt figure out what resolution to run TGC in. It didnt seem like there were any 4:3 options.

When starting tgc, i select the 1920 x 1080 resolution. I also use windowed mode in TGC. I then went to the projector remote and change the aspect to 4:3. I can't remember though what mode i selected. When i get back on it, i'll try to remember to check. I only did this one time and it saves the settings going forward.
