  • Viewsonic PJD 5555W feedback

I am looking at getting the Viewsonic PJD 5555W for my sim build. Anyone running this unit? It has adjustable zoom and focus so it sounds like I will be able to mount it where ever I like (i was thinking 15' behind my impact screen) and get the image size that I want (approximately 10'x7') Just want to make sure adjustable zoom and focus are what I need to have a wide variety of mounting options, clearly a projector noob here.

You can do better. For starters, it isn’t 1080. It is 1280x800. Next that zoom feature really isn’t going to help much as it isn’t a short throw projector. This is what you want: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00M9...OML&ref=plSrch

thanks for the advice. I was hoping to mount the projector behind the golfer to prevent any shots hitting the projector. (teaching my wife / kid to golf on the SIM)

Get the short throw benq. It's not as short as the optoma and people say it has better brightness and color. I have the optoma and it works for me but it could be brighter.

for you guys with the short throw projectors you must have some sort of protection for them?

get a wire basket from home depot and make a cage for the projector. if you get a regular projector your head might cast a shadow on the screen.

It really depends on how high your ceilings are and how tall you are. My projector is behind me 12 feet from the screen and never is an issue with shadows. I have 10.5 ft ceilings
