Hi,
I recently installed a GTX 1070ti graphics card in my i5 that has 16gb ram. I overclocked the graphics card started up TGC and was expecting to get FPS to go through the roof. I was a bit disappointed that it stuck at 60 fps.
After that I checkt what would happen if I lowered the display settings within TGC and found out that it still got stuck at 60fps. With the help of Google I found out that it has to do with Windows display settings and more specifically the refresh frequency settings. Obviously it makes sense afterwards and I felt a little blond.
My setup is:
- BenQ W1090 projector (set to 1080p 1920x1080 60hz)
- Sony HD television that I use as second monitor (set to 1080p 1804x1014 60hz)
If I change/lower the BenQ display settings to 1280x800 I have the option to go to 120hz. I tested with only the BenQ projector connected and FPS went above the 60fps, which makes sense of course.
So, now my questions:
1. What would be the best setting in my case? I believe I should stay at 1920x1080 limited to 60hz/60fps and krank up the display settings in TGC to the max that will keep me around 60fps.
2. What setups do you guys use? Are you going for higher that 60fps and at what resolution are you doing it then?
