    Projector Question re: 9x9 Screen

I have read through a lot of this thread which has been very helpful but haven't come across one yet that is specific to my dimensions.

I am trying to use only 1/2 of the garage in a 2 car garage to appease the mrs and was wondering if anyone had any experience with a 9ft x 9 ft screen. The max width would be a 9 foot screen and still allow at least one car on the other side. The ceiling is 9.5 feet so figure the screen would be 9 ft high. Would this just mean the height would be impacted and some of the top/bottom of screen would just be blank?

Any suggestions re: projectors or anything for that matter would be much appreciated. I have looked at projector central and when I put in the width it just automatically reduced the height so I am guessing I will just not be able to maximize the height?

    Thanks.

I have a garage where the door tracks limit me to a 9' wide frame. I set up a frame that was 9' wide by 7.5' tall. With my Benq TH671ST running in 4:3 mode I can get full width with about 6 inches of black at the top and bottom of the frame. (4:3 format at 9' wide yields 6.75ft high) My enclosure is 4ft deep and the roof of the enclosure inclines upward at 12 degrees so the front opening of the enclosure is abut 8.5' tall.

I hit from about 10 feet from the screen. Although I would like to have a larger projection, what I have is certainly enough to enjoy a sim.

One projector feature that is very useful is some degree of zoom in the lens so you can fine tune the size of your image.

I'm in the same boat, er....garage. I'm using one bay, roughly 10' x 20'. I have an 10' x 10' enclosure with a 9' x 9' screen. I bought a BenQ TH671ST from Amazon. On projector central, it states the optimal mount for this model is 5' from the screen. That works out for me since I'll be hitting from about 10' or 12' feet (garage door opener, permitting).
