  • Projector Placement/Not floor or Ceiling?

Has anyone ever tried using something like the below rack/tray instead of ceiling mount or floor box? Was just thinking, since Im going to be running my laptop next to my hitting area already, why not just place my projector on here? I also want to do this because I will be taking the projector in each time from the garage, not leaving it out.
Only issue I see is would projector be able to compensate for the few feet of offset from center, but let me know if Im missing something?

So I looked into this and where I landed is that it seems doable depending on your screen size, hitting area and budget.

My goal was to place the projector about 2-2.5ft offset from the centre line, near the mat/ball. Basically, any projector that can suit will need a decent amount of horizontal and vertical lens shift in order to square the image, plus an appropriate throw ratio for your screen size and hitting area. Combine all that with decent resolution and brightness and I found you’re into pretty high end projector territory. But if you don’t need the lumens (e.g. dark hitting area), then there are some 1080p home theatre options with lens shift.

Other issue was left handed players, it will interfere with their swing.

So, I’m just gonna go with a 1080p Optoma short throw sitting on the floor in an enclosure, about 5ft from the screen and 7ft in front of me.
