InFocus IN138HDST
Although difficult to find one in stock at the time I ordered mine, the first projector I received, and therefore tested in my sim space was the InFocus IN138HDST. Due to the the very low aspect ratio of the IN138HDST I was able to mount the projector at a distance of 9’ 7” which worked well with my hitting mat placement and was essentially directly over where I was striking the ball.
That said, I have to admit for my space even with the highly adjustable ceiling mount the IN138HDST was a challenge to find the exact right place just off my ceiling to get the image to project exactly where I wanted it. For those that have ample space to mount their projector this will not make a huge difference for you but for those like me in tight spaces, getting the IN138HDST to sit at the exact right distance at the exact right angle was a test of great patience and fortitude. Once the projector was finally mounted properly I was pretty happy with the image. It was certainly bright enough and filled the 209 diagonal inches nearly perfectly after keystoning the image in. However, despite trying nearly everything I was never able to get the IN138HDST’s image to focus in tightly. Meaning, I could see everything fine but I could not focus the image sharply. I tried adjusting the manual focus many, many times to see if I was able to get the image to lock “in focus” but I could just never get it right… at the end of the day the image had a “fuzziness” to it no matter what I did. I took many pictures and it is difficult to see in the pictures I took but I confirmed what I was seeing with my wife and multiple friends and they all agreed with me.
On the positive side, if you have a lot of ambient light… the IN138HDST certainly does produce a bright image. The advertised 4000 lumens is evident and if ambient light is a significant factor for you in your sim space the IN138HDST should be a consideration at this price point of projectors. Another nice feature is the IN138HDST’s “TechStation”. In full disclosure, I personally had no need for this feature because I run all my input devices into HDMI inputs through an AV receiver and then a single HDMI cable out to the projector. However, if you were not setting up through an AV receiver the “TechStation” would allow you to discreetly mount your streaming stick device right inside the IN138HDST nice and neat and out of sight. So if you are using your sim room as an AV room as well this could be a nice feature to consider.

InFocus IN138HDST - Pictures
* Note that if you see what appears to be a duplicate picture of an image on the impact screen, it is actually 2 separate pictures, one with very minimal ambient light and the other picture is with a single recess light on above the hitting mat.
