    I was hoping that someone could give me some insight on projector choices. Below are the specifics of my simulator and installation situation:
    1. Uneekor overhead mount sensor 3'6" behind hitting area and 10' high off of the floor;
    2. Carls custom enclosure 16' wide x 10' tall x 10' deep;
    3. Currently have the Optoma 1080GT Darbee mounted just below 10' from the floor right at the edge of the enclosure (almost 10' from screen.
    The image simply does not seem bright enough with this projector unless it is dark outside. I can do some things do darken the room (it is in my shop), but I was wondering if there might be a better option than the 1080GT. I am also unsure if I can do anything other than a short throw due to the Uneekor hanging at 10' between a standard throw projector and the screen. Finally, I am somewhat confused by if a standard throw projector with like lumens would provide a brighter image than the short throw (projector central says yes)?

    Thanks in advance!

    With that much screen space, you need lumens. How many is never clear. I obsessed on projector Central too. I don't think you need the 5500 lumens I have, but that's what I went for. Im sure you could ceiling mount a projector next to the Uneekor? Offset?

      What projector do you have? Whats the screen size and how far away is it mounted? Thanks

        Go to projector central and sort by the throw ratio range you want (I think 0.6-0.8 off the top of my head...?). You will see that after the BenQ and Optima you are looking at $4K+ for a higher lumen projector.

        Best to darken the room.

          I don't know how much space you have, but I purchased an Optima EH515TST and will be at 11' back from my 14' wide screen. It has 5000 lumens. When my sim is completed, my Uneekor will be at 13' from the screen and 9' from the floor. It is a little more pricey than the Darbee, but not as much as the $ 4k units.

            Thanks for the input everyone. Gman, your suggestion on the EH515ST is great. I have a 16:10 screen so was disappointed this projector only offered 16:9. However, I see where the WU515ST has native 16:10. Looks like it would work. Thanks again!
