Optoma EH412ST - Best new projector?

Hey guys,

I came across an article talking about the release of the new Optoma EH412ST and it looks really impressive with a price tag of $899 so i thought i would share it here..

here are some specs:

- 4000 Lumens
- 1920x1080 (native) / max: UHD 4K 3840x2160
- 50,000:1
- short throw (0.5:1)

I just posted the same thing on another thread. Can’t get it to focus for the life of me. Very underwhelmed by the pictures quality and clarity. I’ve spent hours trying to dial it in with mediocre results.

I'd agree it doesn't seem to have quite the edge to edge sharpness as the GT1080 copy I had. However, it's pretty minor and in the corners only, which for me isn't an issues as I mostly watch wide aspect ration films (so letter boxing make any softer parts black anyway). I do also play casual games and other fast moving ones like Mario Kart 8, in 16:9 and never notice it in practice, but for something like golf if you had scores and stats in text in the corners I can see it might bug you.
