Hey everyone. I've got my setup almost complete with Skytrak, Carl's DIY enclosure, Country Club Elite 5x5 mat and gaming computer. My impact screen enclosure is the 8x10.5 Carl's DIY enclosure with the premium screen and the 5 foot deep enclosure. I'm trying to figure out what projector I need and what factors I should be considering. I'm most concerned with whether the 5 foot enclosure depth is going to block a short-throw projector from being able to fully project on the screen. My garage has 12 foot ceilings and I would like to mount the projector approximately 9.5'-10' high and as close as possible to avoid shadows. I'm ok to by a "cage" to protect the unit from damage from a pop fly if the projector will work best in front of me. Also, I am anticipating ball striking approximately 10 feet from the screen as has been recommended. If I mount a short throw projector, how far back will it be set up? And is there a chance that the 5 foot enclosure top will partially block the projected image from reaching the screen? I'm just not real familiar with these setups. Some seem like they're set up closer than 5 feet, which obviously won't work as it would be inside the enclosure. Should I be looking at a non "short-throw" projector instead with this kind of setup? I'm ok with that but don't really want my shadow to show on the screen.
Also, any recommendations to particular models?I've been looking mostly at the BenQ HT2150ST as it's gotten fairly good marks on here. I'm open to other suggestions though if anyone has a preference.
A couple of side notes. My garage is pretty dark and I can thrown up a sunblocking curtain in the single window (there are some standard small garage door windows as well, but they won't be near the screen and sun won't shine towards the screen through them.
Thanks all!
