Lamp Life

Folks,

I just looked up the "lamp life for Optoma GT 1080Darbee Short Throw" and found the below. Question is, how many hours are you getting out of your lamp? I'm at around 450 hours and I am noticing the picture quality degrading (looking dim). Curious what everyone is getting whether this projector or another.

"The GT1080Darbee lamp has a rated life of 5,000 hours (10,000 hours in Eco mode)."

Did your lamp go out on you? A couple of days ago I heard a "pop" sound when I went to turn on the projector. One thinks burnt lamp right away, of course. I only had about 300 hours on it (can't check until it's fixed lol). That's a looooong way off 5000-10000!!

Not Yet. Probably have another 50 or so since this post. I ordered a spare lamp just in case!

That's pretty pathetic lifespan... especially when OEM replacement is $300 or so. Did you go with an aftermarket for the spare? What did you get & have you tried it to see if it works?
