Hi everyone. Need your help. I have been reading through all the projector threads and came to the conclusion that I should move from 16:10 to a 16:9 projector. Just too many options for projectors with 16:9 and with the 16:10 some of the projectors don’t give a full resolution or lumens or combination of both with short throw. My current projector is Optoma 670A which has been great but picture is grainy and I have a 3 1/2 bay garage with windows in all the garage doors and 4 windows on a side wall (they have blinds). I need more Lumens.
Screen is 162” x 102”
If I go with 16:9 projector and try to fit the picture in the width, I will have about 10 inches exposed top or bottom. If I expand the picture to fit the height I will have about 7” overlap on each side. Has anyone gone down this route? Is there a way to manipulate the picture to fit without losing resolution too much? I was thinking I could sew in a 3” piece of black material on the bottom of the screen so that the white screen is not showing. I guess I could do it at the top also until the summer and then possible redo my whole set up. Any ideas from all of you would be appreciated.
Cheers.
