I'm strongly considering doing a ground mount for my new sim build. By ground mounting I can avoid the need for an electrician and running wires through the walls, ceilings, ect. My only hang up is that I'm not crazy about the idea of having the projector directly in front of the hitting area. I feel like this could be a major hindrance for putting. Can I fix this through horizontal keystone? If so, does anyone have projector recommendations with horizontal keystone adjustment? Would like to stay in the 2k and below range if possible. Thank you for the help!

Yes, horizontal keystone will take care of having the projector off-center from your screen. Depending on your room width, you may not be hitting from the center anyway, so there's a chance that a centered projector wouldn't be in your way putting. I would think with a $2k budget, you could spend $1k on the projector and still get the wires run. Or they make plastic channels that you can paint an run wires through. Then you mount them to the wall. It doesn't look quite as nice but at least the projector is out of your way.-
The room is 15''8 wide and 23'' deep 10''2 ceilings. I've decided to go with the Carl's DIY 16:9 10 ft enclosure. The screen will be 7.7 x 13. I also ordered a 9 x 4 Fiberbuilt studio mat. With these dimensions, am I safe to assume that it would make the most sense to center the hitting strip with the center of the screen? -
So if you put the enclosure against one wall, the center of the screen would be 6'6" from one wall and 9'2" from the wall behind you. I would just put a ball down there and see if your driver hits the wall that is behind you. If you are comfortable swinging, then I would align the hitting strip with the center of the screen. But if it doesn't feel comfortable, offsetting it isn't a big deal.

Optoma ZH406ST is a new short throw laser projector with both vertical and horizontal auto keystone plus/minus 30 degrees. How far off of center does 30 degrees allow you to move the projector in inches? Is 30 degrees enough to get the projector out of the way? Projector Central says 6''5 distance for 177'' screen. Does using the horizontal keystone shrink the picture? Will it significantly effect picture quality? Sorry for all the questions but I'm a total newbie with projectors and trying to learn from scratch.Comment

If I'm understanding what I read correctly, for a 177'' image, I could have the projector "roughly" offset up to 53'' right or left of center with 30 degree correction. Am I thinking about this correctly? Does anyone have any experience with Optoma ZH406ST? Any other projector suggestions for this type of setup?
