  • Projector picture help

    Hi,

After much reading on this site i finally went for a BENQ 671st which is perfect for what i need and Ive just mounted it onto the ceiling. Everything is looking great except for one small thing (that is causing me no end of annoyance). The picture is 87" at one side and about 83" at the other. I don't have an adjustment on the projector to rectify this as the keystone only adjust on the top and bottom.

Can someone please advise me how the projector needs to be moved to fix this issue, it really has no affect on the ability to play, the picture looks great and most people wouldn't worry one bit but its driving me insane.

    Cheers in advance

Couple of questions which might help others and myself to weigh in.

i assume the projector is offset from the middle of the screen? I therefore assume you have moved the projector horizontally to attempt to center the image? I can’t think of another reason why the image height would change form side to side so to speak.

if the projector has no lens shift capability you are kind of stuck. Could you center the projector to the screen?

Are you sure your screen is parallel to the projector lens or vice versa?

I have to agree, it sounds like it may not be square to the screen. Are you able to rotate the projector slightly to rule it out?

Push around on the bottom corner of the screen and you'll see the picture change size. I bet you can start to get it squared up that way.

You need to slide the whole projector toward the bigger side. Rotate the projector away from the longer side till both sides are the same height then move the projector accordingly.

Guys thanks very much. Exactly what you all said, the projector needed moved a few inches to the left as it wasn’t in the middle of the screen.

Who would have thought that building a golf simulator would take up so much time and thought.

Everytime I think I’m ready to go something else that I haven’t thought about comes and bites me.

                cheers again
