  • Im losing it!!! HELP

OK i will not order my projector because i am so extremely anal and analytical and cant pull the trigger. Can you please help? So if I have 10 foot ceilings and i have an enclosure that is 9 by 14 and a viewable screen size of 98.5 tall and 157.6 wide and i buy a optoma gt1080hdr projector........ projector central says that it needs to be mounted roughly 7 feet away with a vertical offset of -15. so if i mount this projector on the ceiling and i have to have the center of the lens be 15 inches above the screen and the screen is 98.5 inches and the ceiling is 120 inches 98.5 + 15 = 113.5 leaving me with 6.5 inches that the projector has to be dropped down to display correctly.
    Questions:
    1. Can i find a ceiling mount that brings the center of the lens to exactly 6.5 inches below ceiling? if so where and what one? The projector height is 4.5 inches so if lens center is half of that 2 1/4 inches the mount could only be 4 1/4 inches from ceiling to top of projector.
    2. next question if this is possible above, then bottom of my projector is hanging roughly 8.5 inches below ceiling leaving me with only 9 feet 3 inches clearance. I am 6 foot 1 and want to swing driver without hitting that projector and plan on eventually raising my floor up 2 inches for putting floor so clearance is only 9 feet roughly. AM I GOING TO HIT PROJECTOR?

For anyone who has stayed with me so far that has knowledge please help. Im a psycho right now and just want to place the order and move on. I really wanted the benq 2150st projector as first choice but it showed on projector central i needed to mount it at 10 feet 1 inch away. which scared me for same reasons as number 2 above (hitting it) and it would be behind me and would it cast shadows?

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU AND THIS AWESOME FORUM.

From what I understand, you can simply tilt the projector back toward the ceiling which will create your 15”. You can mount it as normal to the ceiling and tilt to make up the rest. I also understand that the projector should be mounted over the ball. No club should touch it at that point.

Please note, my projector is on the floor. This is just what I have acquired through my own research and reading others remarks.

    Good luck.

I have 102 x 154 viewable. 112” ceiling. Center of lens is 3” from ceiling. Projector is about 8’4” from projector. I do have to have the projector tilted slightly and that brings in keystone which does effect the picture slightly if you use too much. I have the projector set as 16:9 but I also adjusted the aspect ratio in my video card on the laptop to make it closer to 16:10 (check sticky in projector section).
I made a mount for my Optima 1080 HDR so that it was as close to the ceiling as possible and it gives it protection and the easy of adjusting the projector (moving it side to side or back and forth).
Not sure if this helps but I’m happy with the projector.
