Optoma eh412st vs eh460st or BenQ

Ok so far I figured the optoma projectors have larger offset then others but therefore can be placed closer to the screen which I need unless I change my garage door set up.

now the eh460st is what I am eying and just by chance saw in the product description that max screen size is 152 inches. Ther eh200st and eh412st List up to 300 inches diagonal.

i ordered the 16:9 retractable stealth screen from par2pro and wonder what’s best. I only have 8feet distance to screen (for projector placement on ceiling) and 9 ft ceiling height (beams)

the offset from the optomas take 1 ft away but that ok, I could still do a 14:8 screen size which is fine. But the saw that the 460 states 152 inch which is odd.

anybody came across this and question is if this is just a recommendation. For best quality or really a max.

i looked at BenQs short throw now and see there is barely an offset which is great but needs 11ft distance to screen for 16:9 ft screen.

i am probably totally over analyzing this .. hahaha

Ok I can answer my own question now that I got the projector and tested it. The eh460st does a bigger screen then 152” as states as max on the spec sheet. Got it about 8ft from screen and almost for 16:9 ft screen.

attached is my temp set up until my retractable sport screen arrives. This is the 16:9ft stealth screen workout the sports screen set up.

I am about to order the same set up. I am ordering 14ft wide. My ceilings are 9ft.

I notice you don’t have any side protections do you think it’s unnecessary.

What do you mean by offset? I’m still looking for a projector as well. I was looking at BenQ TH671

Tjmaxx916 that net was only the temporary one before the screen arrived. I am still waiting for the retractable sport screen the stealth impact screen will be attached to. I included 5ft side protection nets as well. Those ship from all star sports in Canada va the stealth screen from Arizona so separate shipments. Even though my screen is 16 ft wife I still recommend side protection if there is stuff worth protecting. I have kids that are beginners and balls can go any way. Also balls can get damaged hitting stuff and then mess up your screen.

the offset was something I did not know about when I bought the projector. Optomas have a large offset vs BenQ a very small one. See photo.
if u only have 9 feet like I do the smaller the offset the better. I have an optoma and had to tilt it a bit to get max picture height.

but I figured optomas can be closer to the screen vs BenQ projectors. I tried to max screen size having ceilings at 9ft and dealing with a 16:9 screen.

Very nice setup. I recently ordered the same projector and a 16' SportScreen, so similar to yours. What do you use for you landing mat?

Debating same thing. EH412ST ($900), GT1080HDR ($800) or TH671ST ($700). Advice?

I am.debating the same thing...looks like only real difference between the 412ST and the 1080 is about 200 lumens so I dont think its worth the extra $400 it will cost me in Canada. Thoughts?

I just ordered 412st since amazon had for only $100 more so seemed like a deal on it. Comes in a couple days
