About to purchase a second hand one of these to use with my Net Return Home Series and Simulator Screen

My room is pretty tight, 2.5m wide x 2.5m high so I have to stand slightly offset to the right to make a full swing (I only use the sim room for irons, no driver or woods)

According to Projector Central, to get a 4:3 ratio on the Home Series Simulator Screen, the throw would need to be 1.34m from the screen which means because of the offset required for me to make a full swing, it will be directly in the firing line of my backswing and follow through if I mount it centrally to the screen

So, my question is, can this projector be mounted with a similar offset to where I hit from (ie not inline with the centre of the screen, perhaps 50cm to the right of centre) to avoid any issues when making a full swing?

New to the forum but learned a ton over the last two weeks that helped me out so thought I would jump in with a thought. Have you considered a floor mount for the projector? I have put together a quick and dirty quarantine Golf Simulator in my Beach house garage in the last week to keep from going crazy while we are in lockdown. I just received and installed the Optoma GT1080 HDR in my garage today in a metal floor cage I bought for $100 on eBay. The cage is slanted downward towards the hitter for safety but just to be safe I have put some foam behind it and covered it with a panel of artificial turf and it works fine so far(in fact I have tried to hit it on purpose and it’s hard to do!). The projector is on the floor 5 feet from the screen- which is the Net Return ProSeries net and frame with the ProSeries Screen and valence. At 5 feet it fills the 94” by 80” screen at a 4:3 aspect ratio. My hitting area is 3 feet behind the projector - so about 8 feet from the screen. I just got a Skytrak last week and so far it is working surprisingly well- I was worried it would not compare well to the Foresight GC2 w/HMT I use for lessons and practice in NYC- but I am pretty impressed so far. I have rigged up two flat screens With AppleTV’s mirroring an iPhone and IPad using HUDL For swing analysis showing down the line and face on swing views. I have a 5x5 Country Club Elite mat I use for hitting and also bought two Grade A 5x5 Top Golf recycled hitting mats from Rawhide Golf Mats that sit directly in front of the screen side by side to catch the balls as they land(Since the garage floor is concrete I needed some padding and the turf matches the CCE well). (BTW-the Rawhide recycled mats from Top Golf sure seem identical to my CCE mat- and the Grade A mat was less than half what I paid Costco for my CCE). I will likely upgrade many of these items over the coming months and sell various components of the setup on eBay, but this is working great for now! All in I have spent about $5000: $2200 for Skytrak, $1300 for the NetReturn net, screen and valence, $450 for the CCE and $420 total for the two Rawhide mats, and $800 for the Optoma. I would note that the flat screens, ipad, and iPhone for HUDL Swing Analysis and the laptop running Skytrak were repurposed. Sorry for the ramble but thought this might help others cooped up looking for an outlet!

Got any pics of the screen with the projector on. Trying to get my 1080 to cover a decent proportion of the screen with 4:3 ratio

Ive got a very similar setup and having the same issue. I purchased a second hand GT1080 from eBay. Im also hitting slightly offset due to the width of the room. To mount the 1080 on the ceiling its in the way of the swing, my ceiling is just under 10 foot.

Im going down the route of floor mounting the 1080 in a cage. Not sure what it will be like having the projector central and then hitting just to the right of it. Going to maybe build my own cage.

I will post pictures of the screen tomorrow- everything shut down for the night. The projector sits 5 feet from the screen and it fills it pretty well Side to side with a black bar at the bottom about foot tall, picture goes all the way to the top of screen. I have not used keystone correction or Zoom- the projector automatically puts the picture bottom about a foot above the level it is on. I am planning an 8 x 10 higher quality screen but the Net Return Pro Series Simulator Screen is working ok for now. I have developed a couple small holes after only about two weeks or less but I called and they said they had some defective screen material they got from the mill and will send me a replacement- very positive support experience so far.
