  • projector height with a 5 foot deep enclosure

hi there! I am brand new to the golf sim world and am getting stuck installing my projector. I bought a 8x10.5x5 screen enclosure from Carl's. I am having a hard time getting my image to the top of the screen due to the picture hitting the top of the enclosure. I have a Optoma 1080 darbee, any help or suggestions on how high and where to hang the projector would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

Most likely you have a couple options:

    1. Move the projector back and zoom (I assume you are maxed out here)
    2. Modify the roof of the enclosure to allow the image to pass
    3. Get a new projector with horizontal shift, lower the projector and offset it to the left or right
    4. Floor mount the projector

I am no expert but am currently wrestling with these options myself.

I looked at this long and hard. The 1080Darbee and 1080HDR are great projectors but for me I had to mount them right at 5 feet for the image size I was after. To me this is verging in the "ultra-short throw" territory. Carl's does sell a mount I believe to mount the projector to the top of the enclosure. For me I used a BenQ (MW632ST) which I mounted at 91/2 feet back allowing me to get the size and position of image I was after.

Ive got a similar issue in the fact i have a GT1080 projector and cant get it to fill the screen as desired. Floor mounting was the only option for me as my ceilings were not high enough without the projector being in the way of the swing

I think floor mounting with this projector is the best option given how close to the screen it needs to be.
