We're in to the 'which projector works' phase of our garage to golf sim conversion. We're currently thinking that the screen will be 16:9 format and about 14 feet wide and 8 feet high. When I throw the BenQ TH671ST into the projector central calculator with a throw distance of about 10 feet... I think it's going to work. But there is a concern. The page tells me that Projector Central's estimate is that the brightness will be too low (30 nits). Although, on the same page, the Manufacturer's spec says it will be 93 nits which is fine for a room with high ambient light.
Now, as I said, the space is in our garage and there are no windows so it will be completely dark aside from a spotlight we'll place over where the ball is positioned.
Everything I've read says that a 3000 lumen projector is the starting point for a golf sim. Is 3000 lumens enough for a screen of this size in a well light controlled room? Looking for anyone with suggestions or experience with this.
Thanks!
