    Projector for 15 ft screen

    Hi guys,
    I'm looking for a projector that suits my screen size of 14.7' W x 8' H.

Room depth is 20' and I'll be hitting ball 10' away from screen. Would prefer the projector to stay behind me so I don't need to worry jamming a ball at full speed into it.
Room is fairly dark with some light, but I would prefer 4-5000 lumens up for enough brightness.

    Thanks all for reading.

This forum has been a blessing and I have been researching a TON of projectors and have read pretty much all there are on projectors on this site!! I have settled on the Optoma 1090HDR projector... it has 4200 lumens and is a short throw projector. We are buying a home with a media room that is 22ft wide by 30ft long with12 foot ceilings and has a large screen already in place and with some modifications, my sim screen will be 16x9 and I will be hitting from about 10ft away. The projector will be 8 foot away for the image to be that size.

The link below is from the Optoma web site and you can adjust the dimensions of any Optoma projector to fit your needs. The second link is one that has been shared many times on this forum and you can research any make, model and brand of any projector on the market. It was a great help in my research!!!

    Hope this helps a bit!!

Dudley286: Wondering how you like your setup now. We are building a new home with a dedicated sim room that's 28' X 18' with 10.5' ceiling. I'm thinking about using GT1090HDR with a Carl's Place 10' X 15.5' screen. I'm also thinking I'll mount ceiling projector approx. 8' from screen with hitting area at 10'. Just wondering how those dimensions have worked for you. Would love to see pictures.

      My best,
      scott

I am so sorry for not seeing this .... we actually just finished our build out and I will post some pics in the next few days..... FYI - I messed up big time at first... I mounted the Eye XO first [5ft from the screen and then the GT109 [8ft from the screen] with out checking the image and then found that the XO cast a shadow across the top of the screen. I had to move the XO to with in 2 inches of the GT1090 to keep the shadow off the screen. I now hit from around 10.5 ft and have come close to hitting both of them with topped driver shots.

On a side note, I do HIGHLY recommend the GT1090, I have it in a media room and have even turned off the lights and have a fully bright 16x9 image!!

dudley286 I am also curious how you like it. The GT1090HDR in front of the ball worries me just a bit

The GT1090 is great!!! Highly recommend it and have not had any issues with the images in a fully lit room.
    Working...
