  • Projector question- Epson 2100 to short throw

I have an Epson 2100 that I purchased a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I purchased it before I set up my sim. I would like to buy a short throw projector and sell the 2100. Any suggestions on selling and short throws. My screen is 16x10 and I have 11 ft ceilings. My shadow barely shows, any thoughts on how to keep my current setup?

If your current set up works with the 2100, why consider making a switch. Can you move your tee area back a bit to remove the shadow completely? If it works, then why not save your money for when 4K becomes more prevalent and of course cheaper.

I can't move my tee area back. It still catches the top of my shadow. I do have it installed on the center beam. I'm thinking I could try to offset the projector which would allow me mount it higher on the ceiling?

So long as the centre beam does not get in the way of the image that should work. Does this projector have horizontal lens shift ? Sorry I have not checked it’s specs. If it does, then you can offset the projector possibly.

My issue is the garage door opener. It does have 30 degrees of horizontal lens shift. This might work if I move it further back next to the beam on the ceiling.

I would play around with it a little. Try the floor first with various positions and see how thse work before mounting on the ceiling again.
