I am getting seriously confused by video terminology to the point that I wonder if I'm using my equipment to it's full potential.
I have a PC with Windows 10.
Projector:
Optoma GT1080 HDR Short Throw projector. In the specs they state - Enhanced Gaming Mode for 1080P 120Hz Gaming at 8.4ms | 4K UHD Support | Play HDR for 4K and 1080P | High 3800 lumens for Day & Night Gaming. It has two HDMI inputs - one labeled HDMI 1.4a and the other HDMI 2.0.
Graphics Card
My video card is the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 192-bit Gaming Graphics Card, Super Compact, ZT-T20600H-10M. The specifications include -
So here are my questions (finally) -
1) Would it be better to connect the projector to one of the DisplayPort 1.4 jacks on the graphics card? To do so, I would have to use and HDMI to Display port adaptor since there is no DisplayPort input on the projector.
2) Do I need to change my display settings on the graphics card to take advantage of the "4K UHD Support" claimed by the projector?
Im running E6 and overall the graphics look good but I have nothing to compare them to. Also, I plan on using my system to watch football games and movies so I would like to be sure I'm getting the most out it.
So, if anyone has a similar configuration and is willing to share their expertise I would appreciate it.
