  • Short throw 16:10 projector?

    Hi everyone,

I’m sure there has been discussion on this but I’m having a difficult time finding a short throw 16:10 projector. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    thanks!

Exactly. You're talking about a 1920x1080 resolution and sacrificing a small amount of screen size vs. filling your screen with a 1280x800 resolution. It's not even a comparison. The higher resolution by far trumps the increased image size.

Honestly, you will be able to stretch the image in your graphics card with any projector. Just go onto projector central and plug in your specs into the search field and you'll see your options. If you're wanting to mount it around 10 feet away, your throw ratio would be 0.6. Conduct a search for projectors in a range from like 0.3 to 0.9 just to see all your options that can put you in the right ballpark.

Most of these should do =

If you can find one with optical zoom that would be great but I don't think there's a search filter for that (and projectors with optical zoom tend to be on the higher end of the price spectrum). But really just choose from those search results and you'll be fine. You have high ceilings so vertical offset won't be a big concern.

Thank you so much for taking the time to educate me on all of this! I truly appreciate your help. I will update the thread on my decision but yes I agree it makes sense to get the higher resolution.
