Projector Needed for This Setup?

I am considering the 16:9, 8x14 Carls Pro Golf Enclosure for my garage. I notice they have a projector mount option, which is great. I plan on a 5' enclosure depth, so I'd assume the throw to the screen is somewhere between 4'6" and 5'. The image shows the mount very close to the back edge of the enclosure.

Does a projector exist that can throw that short, at 16:9, and fill a 184' diagonal screen?

Yes. Your throw ratio would be around 0.3 to 0.4, which is in the ultra-short throw category. Here is an example of one (this one has such a large vertical offset that it wouldn't work for your setup but just using it as an example to show the throw distance for your screen) =

Wouldn't putting the projector that close to the screen and only around 8 feet high be a bit concerning? I think I'd be worried about hitting any flop shots or high lofted wedges.

Yes, it would be concerning - I guess I was thinking "if they make it that way, it must have a use-case" but that's not the right way to look at it. So let's say I wasn't committed to the mount on the enclosure, and I was going with the same dimensions on the enclosure screen size, but with no restrictions on where I place the projector...Do you have a suggestion for a good projector for that size screen & enclosure size for a celling mounted projector?

That depends largely on your ceiling height.

14' - was planning on using an extender on the ceiling to get it to the right height drop
However, there is a beam at about 11 feet high roughly 10' away from the screen, so that's an option too.

It would mount 6'8" away for your screen dimensions. It has a vertical offset of 14 inches which will keep it up about 8'7'' feet high.

The Optoma GT1080HDR would be the exact same position =

(I'm assuming you're shooting for 1080 and not 4k)
