Hi, Does anyone know if the rainbow effect is a problem at all when using a DLP projector for a golf sim or does it only cause problems when watching action movies and fast moving gaming?

I recall that being an issue with large format DLP TVs in the past but I have not heard of anyone complain wrt a projector. I have a DLP projector (many do) and I have had no issues whatsoever. -

I have been prone to seeing Rainbow effect on DLP televisions and I also see rainbow effect with my DLP projector which is a Viewsonic. I have gone to various conferences or presentations and often see rainbow effect while viewing them as well.
In my experience it is not the content that is being viewed that causes the rainbow effect. I see the rainbow effect when I turn my head quick or my eyes turn to focus on something else really quick. I think I heard that about 1 in 200 people see the rainbow effect, so unfortunately I am one of the unlucky ones.
From my understanding many of the newer more expensive DLP projectors aren't as prone to this because the color wheel spins faster.
My projector is only 720p and I am not happy with the image, so when I upgrade, I will avoid DLP. If you aren't prone to Rainbow effect then I wouldn't worry about it.Comment
