This is a broad question based on how much you want to spend, if you're open to floor/ceiling mount, etc. Here's my story.....

I was going to choose the Optoma EH412ST over the BENQ TH671ST because it had 1000 more lumens and I frequently use the sim with lights and cameras for swing video playback. I wanted my projection screen to be bright with the lights on. I also have a Carl's enclosure.

The problem I ran into was with an enclosure and a short-throw projector, the Optoma had too much of a vertical offset to project into the enclosure. It needed to be 16" above the top of my screen and the roof of the enclosure would have cut off a lot of the projected image. I did not want to mount on the floor.

So I went with the BENQ and had zero issues. No regrets at all.

    What's your ceiling height?

Are you hitting offset or centered?

14' pitch ceiling in a metal building. Above enclosure ceiling is about 11.5'. Hitting centered. Thank you

I don't know what your budget is or if you're trying to go 4k or anything like that. But if you're just going 1920x1080 and looking to stay under $1,000, the InFocus 138HDST will serve you well.

You have 3 feet between screen and ceiling so vertical offset is no issue (actually will help in your case since it will need to mount only 6' 6'' away).

The Optoma 1090 will also work well. Same resolution and vertical offset but a slightly longer throw distance which would get it more over your head and less in front of you.
