  • Screen flickering.

I recently noticed flickering on my screen. It happens sporadically but very consistent. I checked all my cables and they are secure. I am using reshade for past 3 months but never had issues. I am also using Optima 1080 for my projector Attached are screen shots of what the flickering is showing as I can not upload a video.

Can’t tell if this either caused by the projector, reshade, computer setting or issue or faulty HDMI cables.

Flickering is one of the signs of a lamp that is nearing the end of its life. How many hours are on the lamp? Looks like the 1080 has a 5,000-hour life.

I have about 500 hours so shouldn’t be an issue with the bulb. I heard from others could be dust build up in the projector especially around the color wheel. It’s a pain to take this apart with a million pieces. Optoma recommended I take it to audio visual repair shop if I can’t do it.

That happened to my epson when in eco mode - switched to regular and was fine

If these other suggestions don't work, this is likely either the projector or the PC. What I would do is try to connect a laptop, or another computer, if you have one at your disposal. If the issue continues, then it most likely lies in the projector (less likely, but possible is the cable as well). If it stops, then it was the computer. Most often artifacting (as we would call it) like this is caused by a failing video card. If it comes to this and you'd like to work with a reputable company to purchase a new computer and preinstall your preferred software prior to shipment, www.SurfThing.com has custom built computers designed specifically for golf simulator use cases. We have over 20 years experience in supporting golf simulator technology in major retail chain stores such as Golf Galaxy, Dicks Sporting Goods, and PGA Tour Superstores. Do not hesitate to call our sales department with any golf related questions. Hope you are able to solve your display issue!
