DIY Projector case for garage setsup?

Live in Midwest. Temps obviously get very cold particularly in the garage. I have a heater but only use it when in the garage. I really dont want to take my BenQ 671st down all season but worry about it withstanding the cold. I already had to sent it in for an in warranty issue when it stopped turning on.

Has anyone made/bought a case like thing that quasi insulates in while hung still?

If the idea is to keep it warm rather than just to put insulation around it, an inexpensive idea I've seen used for paints and things like that is an incandescent bulb in an enclosure that's left on all the time. For such a small enclosure it would only take a small amount of heat to warm it.

Throw a basic box around it and line it with some foam board insulation. Some 1/4" or 1/2" plywood lined with insulation and a bulb in it should be plenty to accomplish what you're after. I've not put much thought into it but it wouldn't be that hard to create a box with an integrated mounting system to enclose all of that. Here's a quick sketch, but imagine if you put tabs on the top piece and just used the tabs to mount to your ceiling. The projector mounts could be used to suspend the projector within the box, and you could use rubber grommets for the wiring out the back. Just pick a widely used size and cut holes accordingly.

Sort of like a flat pack ikea system.
