optoma gt1080e how to adjust screen size

I recently bought the optoma gt1080e projector and i can’t seem to get the screen size right. Left to right it fits perfectly but its too big top to bottom. The screen ends up on the roof. Had a mess around with settings and keystone button but I can’t figure out how to make the image smaller. The projector is about 15 ft away from the screen.

What aspect ratio are you using on the projector? What is your screen size?

16:9 but have tried them all and there all too big. Screen size is roughly 2.5m by 2.5m

I have the gt1080 and it’s a short throw projector, is yours as well? It should be way closer to the screen. The other problem is your screen is square so in a standard aspect ratio your going to have unused screen on top or sides depending upon what you set it at. You would need to make a custom resolution to maximize screen coverage.

If you’re screen is about 8.5’ wide then the projector should be just over 4’ from the screen. That will fill the width but the image would only be 57” high for a 16:9 ratio. For 4:3 it would be about 5.5’ from screen, you would fill the width and the image height would be 76”. I suggest going to projectorcentral so you can see the dimensions

Yes mine is short throw. I seen other people say when setup correctly you have black bars at side and thats fine just not sure how to make a custom screen size ?

Do you have an nvidia graphics card and run windows? If so, create a custom resolution using these steps (from google search)

              Custom Resolutions
              1. Browse to the NVIDIA Display Properties by right mouse clicking on the Windows desktop and selecting NVIDIA Display. Figure 1. ...
              2. Select the Change Resolution option. ...
              3. Click the Add button.
              4. Read and Accept the End User License Agreement. ...
              5. Type in the desired settings for a custom resolution. ...
              6. Click OK.

I am not aware of custom resolutions with iOS when I run E6 on iPad it scales it close to 4:3 automatically but it is not nearly as good as a PC customer res.
