  • GT1080HDR with 1:1 ratio

    Hi guys,

Planning out my garage build. Due to space limitations, enclosure will be 8'x8'x5'. Wish I could go bigger, but need to balance, family and personal wants. Going to be installed in one bay of a double bay garage.

I'm planning on using a GT1080HDR projector. Floor mounted. I have an NVidia graphics card, and it's capable of custom resolutions.
    Will the GT1080HDR accept a 1:1 aspect ratio? (1080x1080)?

Can anyone verify that it will work, or similar resolution in 1:1 with the GT1080HDR?

    Thank you.

Do a search on this topic. I asked about 1:1 ratios as I was planning the EXACT same thing as you but 9X9. I ended up doing ceiling mounted and 4:3. It leaves space but honestly you don’t even notice.

I think the major issue with 1:1 is distortion if I recall. The ceiling thing is SO mich better from a setup/tear down perspective. I too move my stuff around due to needs of the family. Having to do a projector as part of that would be a real PIMA

I guess I'll play with the setup for 4:3 vs 1:1. I did do a search, just never saw it mentioned that the GT1080 accepted the resolution without hiccups.

And I could be wrong. I think I was talking about another projector at the time but I remember people were pretty strong that 1:1 doesn’t work.
