Upgrading Optoma GT1080 HDR?

Hello, I'm considering upgrading my current projector. I find the resolution or detail to be good but not great. It's also no good in light conditions.

Curious what other ceiling mounted short throw projectors I should consider that would make a meaningful difference.

I just upgraded from the Optoma 1080HDR to the Optoma 1090HDR laser. It’s not true 4k but upscales the signal to bright clear picture with a decent graphics card. For the price I don’t think it can be beat for picture quality. The best perk was I didn’t have to move my projector mount since the throw distance is the same on both projectors.

11rkd11 how are you liking the 1090? I'm upgrading from the 1080Darbee and debating between the 1090HDR and the Benq TK700ST and was curios how you're liking it so far? Thanks in advance! Jeff

I’m really enjoying the Optoma 1090 it’s definitely a very noticeable upgrade in picture quality. I have attached images of both the Optoma 1080 vs the Optoma 1090. Both pictures were taking while connected to my laptop with a 1060 graphics card. I have recently upgraded my labtop to a 3080 graphics card @ 120 Hertz refresh rate. The projector picture has even more clarity with very smooth frame rates while tracking ball flights and hole flyovers.

Hoping to revive this conversation as it’s nearly sim season again and I want to improve my image quality. I don’t want to spend 5-6k but 2-3k seems reasonable. Anyone else have experience upgrading from the 1080GT?
