  • Do I have the right projector for a 11.5" x 9.75" screen w/ EYE XO?

Before I place the projector order, I'd like to confirm with those who know way more than me (that's anyone reading this post).

I have a small room: 11.5' wide by 9.75' tall and 15' deep. I will be hitting roughly 7.5 feet from the screen with the EYE XO in front of that.

Based on recommendations here and the Projector Central math, if I go with the Optoma GT1080HDR in 4:3 mode, I can place it just about directly above my head (7' 8") and fully fill 138" horizontally (11.5') and 103" vertically (8.6'), leaving some room at the top for the Uneekor and any kind of valance to cover the angle iron at the ceiling. Is it really this simple? Do I have this right?

And I have one follow-up: I've read that the projector should be on the ball-target line. In my case -- a righty who will be the only one using it -- this will be quite far from the center of the room, especially with a driver. How will this affect the picture?

Thanks for any response and for all the helpful forum comments that have gotten me this far.

Youre never going to get that high of a picture in your room. The center of the lens is probably going to be about 4-5" from the ceiling, depending upon how tight you can get it. then the image is going to start 16" below that. So right there you are going to lose about 20" of height off of the room, so you image height is going to be somewhere in 7' range. You could tilt it and use keystone and see if it's ok for you. As far as the projector location it needs to be in the center of the screen, if you do not have the target line directly under it, then the further you move off that line, you bring in the swing plane and you could end up hitting the projector with a club.

Very helpful wbond as always. Do you have a different projector suggestion for my situation? Perhaps something on the floor? Thanks.
