  • Troubles with projector fitting screen?

Hi everyone. I have a BenQ MW632ST WXGA Short Throw projector. How important is the monitor that you are trying to duplicate over to your screen? I fear the one I am using is a bit too old and for that reason I’m not getting the resolution I want in the picture. The other thing I’m struggling with is getting the image to fill up my entire screen. The image is much larger than my 9 ft x 9 ft hitting screen. Projector is about 12 ft away from the screen.

This is what I’ve tried so far… set my monitor to extend mode… went to display settings and set it at a resolution that would work for a 4:3 aspect ratio. Made sure the monitor and projector were both the same. Went into NVIDIA settings and did the same thing. Was able to fit the screen how I wanted on the projector but when I clicked apply, it seemed to be working until I changed screen to duplicate so I could see the TGC software and then it reverted back to the image being much larger than the screen.

Can anyone help me with some guidance? I would appreciate it! Thanks!

There is a sticky thread in the projector area (where you posted this). Ultimately it boils down to the fact you can't "duplicate" because the image will match the resolution of the inferior screen, so you have to extend and set the projector to the primary. There is a specific sequence to do so, thus I recommend you go check out the sticky.

I would agree with Stetson. You should be extending your desktop not duplicating it.
