  • Projector image inconsistent

Hoping to pick everyones brain and I’ll post a picture shortly. I have a benq TH671ST projector, running a Lenovo desktop (i7, 3060, etc) onto a carls premium screen. When I’m on the internet or desktop it’s most noticeable but the image clarity is good on the bottom portion of the screen maybe bottom 1/3 and much less clear further up the screen. No light issues as I’ve tested in the complete pitch black to eliminate that factor. The impact screen seems to be laying as flat as possible and with good bounce back, any other ideas?
    thanks

See attached, you can see the bottom is clearer and it gets worse higher up

      Could be a few things:

      1. lens needs adjusting from manufacturer. Not likely, but lens might not be off.

      2. Screen is flat, but one corner is closer or further from the projector. Alternatively, the projector might not be level or one side might be tilted closer to your screen than another.

      3. Have you used keystone in your set-up? This could cause issues as well especially if your adjustment is more than a small keystone adjustment.

not the best help, but these are some initial thoughts from me.

Need to know how much keystone you are using, but what you are seeing is expected to some extent - if you focus perfectly at the top, it will sacrifice the bottom, and vice versa. Decide what's most important and pinpoint the focus there. For me, with tiles across the bottom showing stats, my focus is maybe 25%-35% up from the bottom. Another factor would be your projector angle v. what they recommend, but that is quite related to keystone. Minimize keystone by lowering your projector and then balance the focus as best you can as I described.

Use your hand and, while projecting an image, push the screen back away from the projector along the top of the screen, near where it reads "All Images Videos...". If it gets less fuzzy then Dax is spot on, probably needs a keystone adjustment, which makes the projector "tilt" the either the top or bottom of the image backward or forward, depending on which way you adjust it. If the projector is offset a bit from center, the same kind of adjustment might be need from side to side, not top to bottom. Looks like your projector has some ability to adjust keystone.

Thanks for the tips, it was a combination of a few things hit like you said it’s hard to get it 100% percent t. I have it worlds better now but you have to pick which 80% you want clearest

80% is pretty good. Although we're spending a lot of cash on these setups, they are worlds away from the kind of precision you'd need to not notice some inconsistencies on the screen. But when I'm playing a course it's pretty immersive, I don't notice the issues as much as I notice my ball goin' into the rough! In addition, how often do we use such a large screen to read text? That's where it's really noticeable, not so much on graphics.

I am having this same issue with mine, except the bottom of the screen isn’t as clear
