  • Need Combo of Short Throw/Horizontal and Vertical Offset/High Lumen

I feel like I am trying to find a unicorn here, but any help would be much appreciated. I have built out my garage sim and I’m very happy with it. Except having trouble with my projector. I have my door opener directly above me, and as a result I can’t mount a projector center. As a result, I need a horizontal and vertical keystone. My current projector us an Epson 2150, and I can get the image to be centered on the screen. The problem is I need it 13’ away, and right now the image is pretty washed out. My garage has lots of light and while it’s playable, it’s really not great.

I was temporarily using another projector that I had about 10’ away, and I did feel like the image was brighter (lumens appear similar, but it didn’t have vertical correction). I’m surprised that 3’ makes that much of a difference.

I don’t want to spend $1k for a projector, but any ideas would be great. I have a lead on a ViewSonic PJD6352LS 3500, and it seems to tick off the boxes. But there are very, very few reviews on it.

The projector would solely be for golf, not anything else.

    Thanks!

Forgot to mention that. I have a 10’ wide and 9’ high screen.

That is a tough nut to be sure. Although not my preference, have you considered a floor mounting position? There are plenty of great protective covers avail and that may open up the options space for you somewhat. Just a thought.

Can you move your garage opener over a foot or two? That's what I did and have no issues. If your door has torsion springs it wouldn't be an issue

So it’s in my garage and I need to drive my car in, hence the need to mount it high. I have the projector below that I can buy used. It’s actually a little close to the enclosure (which extends 5’), but might work. Can probably mount it offset a bit. But for the life of me I don’t understand image brightness. Is 43L low? I’m in a garage that gets light so I need it to be bright. The current projector I have is mounted 13’ back, but projector central shows the same 44L as well, even with lower lumens and farther away.Click image for larger version
