Soooo. I have a 9x12 screen....the projector I have sucks (Panasonic pt-vx610u)....blurry as hell....So i am looking at a couple options per the golf sim company that set me up with my stuff....I really do want to fill my screen and have a pretty good image quality.....they are offering me a Panasonic pt-vmz51u for $2,200 or a BenQ tk700sti for $1499....I am completely ignorant in the world of projectors....all I know is that I want to fill my screen and have a much better quality image than I have......maybe the one I have could be better with different settings but i have no idea what I'm doing (I'm thing not)......but either way these are the two projectors they are recommending me....any thoughts are much appreciated...using an eye xo2 launch monitor

I was in the same boat and was considering the same projectors. My Sim supplier was very big on the Panasonic as it has higher lumens and more adjustability. It has vertical and horizontal manual shift as well as 1.6 zoom, which should allow you to fill the screen easily. It will also be further back and out of the way. I'm hoping to mount it today on my 12 ft garage ceiling.

yeah,,,filling the screen is important to me...the current projector i have is aprox 18' back from my screen so its well out of the way but the picture quality is terrible...but the panasonic says its a 16:10 format so I don't understand how it could fill a 9x12 screen? Hey, you will learn fast (with months of research!) I am 16ft back. It has adjustable aspect ratio. It also has manual and auto focus. I'm surprised that yours is out of focus and can't be adjusted. My guy has installed both and highly recommended the Panasonic.
By the way, if you come north of the border, you can get the Panasonic for $3500 Cdn!. It still hurts.Comment

The BenQ STI provides a good image BUT works so hard to do it that it runs hot and loud. Mine (both the original and the warranty replacement) can be a little fickle when working that hard...occasional black screen moments do occur, though largely solved by the second one. Had I to do it over, I'd spend the extra money and get into the midrange instead of the low.Comment

Best way for anyone to help is state want you want, HD picture or 4k picture, very bright room or use in light controlled room, also where will you mount it,and what budget.Originally posted by High Octane View Post
4k can be had from 1000 to $$$$$. Benq sells the 936st and seems to be recommended by several people, but is 4500 ish. I see the tk700sti in some videos around 1500,but requires good light control. Narrow down what you want, color correctness, brightness, resolution, and then use the projector central tool to pick the one that works for you. Watch out for mounting position, height and distance as this will affect what works best for you. Good luck, this was the hardest part for me as well. Due to my shop size I am trying the viewsonic px748-4k for the extra brightness (4000lm) good resolution 4k with 8.5x13.5 screen knowing color accuracy will suffer due to the color wheel design and it was cheap to try at $1090. My other option was the 700sti (dim, high resolution good color) or a 1080p Panasonic with 5000 lumens (bright, low res, good color). To cheap to get all three the best.Comment
