  • ViewSonic (PX748-4K) Review

Been using the projector for about 3 weeks now as a simulator, theater, and for gaming. So far I am very happy. I have a very well light controlled space. I am using a overhead track light with snoots to keep stray light off the screen. Brightness is good, could be better but good. Colors seem close but again not perfect. For reference I have a Sony OLED in the house, so I am comparing against the best possible home picture. Mounting was a bit of a pain, ended up about 17'6" back from screen and about 11' up in the air for a 9 foot high screen. I am hitting at ~9 feet from the screen and at 5'9" no shadow, my son is closer to 6' and no shadow for him as well.

Re watched some of the last season of the Mandalorian on it and really enjoyed the scenes where they flew around blasting Tie fighters, the countryside was amazing to look at on that stream. Been playing the new Jedi survivor game and some forza horizon and enjoying both of them as well. No lag and picture is nice and bright and clean. The wrinkles in the screen are the most annoying part and those are just a function of hitting balls into it. I may try to re-adjust it later but for now its fine.

Really wish it had vertical and horizontal offset to help with positioning but for the price I just used the 4 corner correction and made the slight tweaks I needed for my installation. Overall for a $1000 4K projector I am happy with it. So if it fits in your space go for it.
