  • Any love for the BenQ LH820ST

I’m thinking of this for my sim build which is in progress, any feedback on this projector as a good option for a £1500-2000 budget? My only must have is laser!

Been thinking of getting that myself.

Debating whether 4K or laser is better, but leaning this was for the brightness and adjustability.

Here’s a link from someone who did a review of it…

What did you guys decide? I am looking at the same thing. Would it be better to get the laser projector that is HD, but not 4k…or to get a projector like the Optoma 4K400STx 4K Short Throw Projector?

I was also going to start a new thread for the best impact screen.

How big is your screen and light control ?

I recently went with a traditional lamp Optoma UHD35stx ( 4K, short throw 0.5 lens, 3600 lumens ) in my 13'x9" Sim in my garage and very happy with it. They can be had for a good price. IMO I don't think 4K is worth it due to the GPU requirements ( though I have an RTX 4080 ) and how impact screens diffuse the image. I'm running FSX Play and plan on GSpro as well.

I went with the BenQ LK936ST. The picture is absolutely incredible. I was shocked at just how big the upgrade was. Hopefully, I will get it mounted tomorrow and get all of the boxes out of my sim so that I can get some pictures over the next couple days.

It’s a huge upgrade from the Optoma eh200st I had. I am checking on screen options now to see what’s best for 4k. I am even thinking about getting a better projector screen or material for ambient light control to hang in front of impact screen. The BenQ is amazing for sure. Gpu requirements aren’t an issue for my Alienware gaming pc. In fact, this past weekend, had it running 3 screens. 1, 4k golf, 1 camera swing video and one Netflix movie.
