  • Th671st 4:3 distance for mirroring phone

I think the th671st will work for me, but I'm curious about throw distance.

I am hoping it will be compatible with my Chromecast (mw817st was not) so I can cast the Garmin Golf app.

My question relates to the image size when it's casting from a phone.

Viewable screen is 98-100" wide x 105-107" tall.
Hitting the ball from about 10ft away.

I know the projector has zoom and I'll set it in 4:3 mode.
Any idea what a good distance away would be to mostly fill the screen when it's mirroring a phone?
Golfing is it's main use, but there would be the occasional movie night or football game, streaming from Hulu or Netflix (casting would be in full 4:3).

I've used the projector central calculator and it says around 8-9 ft back (ceiling mount) in 4:3, but I'm curious what that would look like when it's mirroring a phone.

    Any thoughts?

No idea. I waited till I had everything hooked up them moved projector to the best distance to fill screen. Not sure how "casting" it would affect image size.

Mirroring the phone makes it 9:16, I think?
I'm hoping the zoom feature will fill it up the screen a little bit.

mirroring the phone in the vertical position ended up being way to small and skinny, but its ok in landscape mode with the projector in 4:3. I'm about 10ft away and I can view regular streaming (YouTube, Netflix, etc) in the same position as landscaping mirrored phone. It worked out pretty well.
phone doesn't fill up the screen as much, but it's workable.
