  • Selecting a projector. Resolution vs lumens?

I have looked at many projectors for my golf sim and I am down to 3 options:

    TK700ST: 4K, 3000 lumens, Lamp, Mount 14-16’ from screen

LH820ST: 1080p, 3600 lumens, Laser, Mount 7.5’ from screen, no zoom

ZH450ST: 1080P, 4200 lumens, Laser, mount 7.5’ from screen, no zoom

I read an article saying lumens may be more critical than resolution (my PC might not even support 4k). These are all within my budget. Any suggestions on which stands out or if there are better options? Thanks for any help!

If you can control your light all the time, you can get away with lower lumens. If you have light pretty much at all outside a spotlight, more lumens is the way to go. I have 4k at 4000 with a viewsonic projector, I wish I had 5000 or 6000 so I can see better when I have the lights on in the shop.

I'd have to agree with the above. I started with 3500 Lumens and while I can mostly control the light in my basement, the difference between my current (6000 Lumens) and old is literally night and day. Both were WUXGA so 1920 x 1200 (1080P in a taller format).
