Projector placement, 4:3 questions…

New garage build, limited space. Retractable screen, 8.5 feet tall X 9.5 feet wide. Projector is Optoma GT2100HDR.

currently using SkyTrak and WGT Golf, running it on iPhone AirPlay to Apple TV which is plugged into projector.

Projector Central gives me a 6’4” distance with -14” vertical offset. Due to my low ceilings, I need to tilt to projector up and use keystone adjustment. Theoretically, I would the need to move the projector further back to fill the screen, correct?

Next question… is there a way to run the screen at 4:3 with my current setup? I can’t seem to make it work.

Last question… If I need to get a computer/graphics card to run 4:3, not all bad as I will likely upgrade my WGT Golf to TGC. No need for 4k for now. Will this computer meet my needs…. Ok, sorted through a few things myself through trial and error. Projector is too close, AND keystone corrections further shrink the image (can’t bring the narrow areas out, can only bring the wide areas in!) it’s pretty obvious now that I think about it. I’ll put projector on a ladder and dial in placement further back.

Ok, a few questions remain. Once I get projector right, will I have a good experience with current setup/software on 4:3 aspect ratio? Is the above computer sufficient if I decide to upgrade?

Computer question answered elsewhere… not sufficient. Once I get monitor placed will just trial current system, upgrade if needed.

I am looking at the GT2100HDR as well to fill up a 138x104 screen. Projector central says that I need a 17" vertical offset, but have seen elsewhere in forum that vertical offset doesn't need to be as high. Currently my screen would start about 17" from ceiling. Did you need the 14" vertical offset for your install, or were you able to solve it in any other way?
