  • benq lu935st question

Hoping someone can give me some guidance. After moving house, I am struggling setting up my projector in the new simulator room.
My screen size is 119 inches wide by 89 inches in height. I have a 22 foot vaulted ceiling so I cannot hang the projector from the ceiling as
in my previous set up. I was considering mounting the projector to the back wall which would result in a throw distance of 184 inches from lens to screen.
The projector would be at a height of 8 foot. My question is will this work with my current benq lu935st projector? Can I use the keystone/cornering/image sizing options to get the image the right size and remain good quality? And, what aspect ratio should I target? I know the other option would be to attempt to set up on a cart but the problem is when I do that, it blocks the door to the room. Or, am I out of luck and need a projector with different throw specs? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should get a new projector. I know a guy that would be interested in taking that one off your hands.

Furthest away you can have it is 127" for an 89" high screen.
Problem with mounting any projector that far back is shadowing on screen from you standing in front of the projector.
Play around with this and you'll get the info you need. https://www.projectorcentral.com/Ben...ulator-pro.htm

You have a few options, you will need to decide if any of them work. One, I assume you have done some "Googling" about mounting projectors on vaulted ceilings - much more common than you may think so there is quite a bit of info out there. Then there are quite long ceiling mount extension poles - again, depending on the aesthetics this may or may not be desirable. Lastly off the top of my head, there are mounts which rotate to allow you to point the projector down. Depending on the capabilities of your projector to correct the image this may also be an option.

I'd say do a bit more research before you spend a bunch more cash. That is a great WUXGA projector IMO.
