Projector Upgrade Help - from Optoma ZW350ST Short Throw Laser Projector

I've got an Optoma ZW350ST Short Throw Laser Projector right now. I started off with it on the floor, but currently have it ceiling mounted. I've only got about 16' of depth in the room so I'll need to stay with a short throw unit.

The current projector works fine for FSX2020, but starts to fall down a bit when I use FSX Play and the better graphics. I'd like to upgrade the unit, but don't think I want to spent $5k + for something really high end (from what I can find),

Is there anything in the $2k range that would be a significant upgrade from what I have? If so, any model suggestions? I can stretch that budget a little if needed.

I tried searching and I know my answer is already out there somewhere, but I have limited knowledge on these projector units and found myself spinning a bit using the search.

I would start with going to "Find a Projector" on projector central. Find a Projector

You can add / remove and modify all the various criteria and see what is out there. You have a fairly bright laser projector so notionally you are looking to upgrade resolution. Just note that at the price point you are looking (which is reasonable) there may be trade-offs in terms of brightness and/or laser/bulb - especially if you are looking at 4K. At full HD 1080P (or WUXGA which would match your current aspect ratio) there are a lot of choices available.

Once you have narrowed things down a bit and decided what is important to you I am sure folks would weigh in on any experience they have with those models.
