  • Projector with Horizontal Keystone

I am finally setting up my GC3 for in house sim use but have ran into a snag. The easiest way to mount the projector is towards the top right corner 8 feet away from the screen on a pillar in that room. (see picture) I would really like to avoid putting a pipe from the ceiling down to the correct height since the ceilings are 17 feet high and would require getting it professionally installed. The enclosure is approximately 128" x 96"
    1. What projector would allow me to use a mount up and to the right and use the keystone feature to make the picture fit the 4:3 screen correctly? I don't need to have perfect graphics since i mainly just use the FSX range, but am open to options that have higher end graphics since i would like to join you guys on the sim tournaments.
    2. As a secondary question, I am also open to ideas on how to better use the space to create a better enclosure as well. My current plan is to get:
    • a better fitting screen (looking at carls 10'x7.7' screen currently) with bungies to create more tension
    • black curtains around the enclosure, outside of the netting
    • foam around the poles
    • artificial turf for the landing area

    Thanks guys

I picked up an Epson EX5220 at the Pawn Shop for 90$ and have mine mounted similarly to what you're looking for. not a short throw but I'm about 16-18' from the screen in my current config.

First I would just fold over your current screen around the edges and use tarp clips with adjustable ball bungees to get the wrinkles out.

Are you hitting offset or directly down the middle of the enclosure. If offset, you could just go with a short throw projector on the ground in front of you, very easy to adjust and no keystone required.
