Hey guys I am rounding third on this simbuild but wanted to get your opinion.

I am going to mount my projector slightly higher and next to my garage door opener using a slight keystone to correct for the slight angle. I am going to use TGC and want a projector with high lumens, 1080p and a wide screen aspect ratio for the best most realistic TGC experience.

This projector has 1080p, 4000 lumens and a 16x9 aspect ratio with a 1.4:1 throw. If I mounted the projector 7-8 feet away and had the screen made 12 x 7.5 feet in dimensions, would that look good in a 9.5 foot high room? Would it be better to have the screen go from 6" below the ceiling to the floor?

If you can think of a better setup let me know the room is 19 ft by 18ft by 9.5 ft

Btw the net will go from the 6" below the ceiling and be accross the whole 19 ft to protect the room. It will also have a net above for flop shots.

My screen is 12ft wide. I have been going back and forth between 1080p and 1680x1050. Projector is also much higher up than the screen picture edge and therefore needs quite a lot of keystone correction.
So I would suggest that you make the screen so you can choose to show 4:3 ratio for the 12ft width.
Then later you can switch between 16:9 / 4:3 and a bunch of other values in between until you settle for what you like the most.
If not possible try to do at least 16:10.

I think the height I get from a 12ft wide 1680x1050 is perfect but the resolution and therefore quality is better with 12ft wide 1080p.
So I am still on the fence about what is best. Right now it's 1080p.

Keystone correction will reduce the quality and screen width, but I guess if you need you need it. Not much to debate.

Have you looked at your dimensions on projectorcentral?
Ceiling mounted 16:9 at 8' away will give you an image that is 74" wide by 41" tall and the image will start 6" below the center of the lens. If you are having a screen that is 12 x 7.5 you are going to have a lot of unused space.
Ceiling mounted 4:3 is even smaller image at 55" wide by 41" tall.
You may want to look at short throw projector to fill more of the screen or see if it's possible to move your projector back. At 15' you would get 139" wide and 78" high, but you need to see what kind of shadows this may cause.

Thanks guys projector central was not working correct on my iphone but I finally went on via pc and it is really helpful. I finally understand what you guys meant in all of the other posts I read.
