  • How to Change BenQ Aspect Ratio

Hello all, I've got a BenQ HT2150ST projector hooked up to my computer via HDMI the native resolution is 16:9 but would like to change it to 4:3. When I go to settings on the BenQ it shows aspect ratio on auto and it is grayed out, will not let me change it. I've searched and have found no way to do it. Thank you for any help.

I had this same issue the other night with the same projector. I ended up changing the aspect ratio on my laptop monitor to 4:3 and that worked. Not sure if that's the proper way to go about it or a stopgap, so I'm interested in feedback here too.

When duplicating a screen, resolutions must match I believe. So your resolution on the projector must match the laptop.

I also had the same issue , with a benq 1080st projector
if i connected my pc with HDMI ,I could not select 1600x1200 (4:3) , if i connect with VGA cable , I can select 4:3. (got HD7450 videocard in this pc)
gonna build new PC next month with gtx 1070 gpu , it only has HDMI and DVI connection , hopes it will let me go 4:3 cause it is the best for my screen size.
maybe it is videocard only time will tell

I have a Benq 1085ST. I plug it into my laptop via HDMI, and then my laptop shows 2 monitors. Whatever I set the resolution to of the Benq monitor, it renders. No changes needed in the project itself. If I send it 1600x1200, that is what it displays.

Took me a while to figure this out.. change your compesettings back to 1080p..

most of you have the projector in a specific mode i.e gaming mode bright for example.

you have to change this mode to user mode and the projector will switch out of auto configure and allow you to choose 4:3 - your image quality will also be a tonne better because your running your comp at 1080.

            hope this helps

Then just play with the user mode to get it to look like the gaming mode or whatever else you chose.

Mariov, you would think customer support at Ben Q would know how to change it... I called and the person I talked to summed it up by saying the projector only likes to be in 16:9 and that's what I'd have to deal with. Your fixed worked great thanks!
            Working...
