Didn't they release the fusion tracking already? Maybe I'm mistaken.

Regardless, I too was pretty disappointed that the hyped-up discount turned out to be 10%. After all the "we're going to give a special discount..." you'd think it would be a bigger discount. BUT, better than nothing I suppose, eh...

I just don't understand their thinking. The Mevo+ became a huge hit because of the value it offers. Now it seems as if Flightscope has gone all Foresight on us. As for it being better than no discount, I'm not sure, it feels like a Gotcha! to me. What I do know is that the market is changing and that Flightscope's decision is probably going to give Garmin an opening. Based on its history with golf gps watches where a new model is released annually, can an R20 be far away?

Why do you feel the Pro package pricing devalues Mevo+? Not my intention to imply you're wrong, just trying to see where you're coming from.

Does Garmin really release new golf watches every year? Aren't you wrong? Or did I just not notice? 🙈

Just my opinion of course...I like my Mevo+, I'm just less a fan of Flightscope as a result of their decision to price the Pro Package at 50% of the price of the Mevo+. IMO, it seems wrong, greedy and completely disproportionate. The Garmin R10 is very similar hardware-wise, with a relatively low spec camera, but provides FTP and FTT data already, and in Awesome Golf. I wonder how much a single 2D camera, positioned behind you, can really add. It can't see the club face, but one can deduce certain club face parameters based on ball flight.

I agree discount should be higher to generate more of a buzz and it does leave the door open for competition. Really to grow your customer base you reward them so they tell ten people about it and you gain incremental sales. The sweet spot would have been better 20-25% Now adoption rate will be lower.

Do you have your numbers based on marketing research or do you just think so? What is the price flexibility of a product like lauch monitor? By introducing a paid PRO package, FS actually created a new product that does not currently have price competition. And a 10% discount is appropriate with regard to possible future sales of used units with the PRO package on the secondary market. A higher discount could jeopardize the sale of new units with the PRO package.

Honestly it’s just 25 years of experience in the services business nothing directly related to simulator software packages. They don’t risk anything giving a larger discount to existing customers on the value proposition, we already own the device. There is competition for the dollars people spend on golf and a new set of clubs as someone called out or other sim components may jump ahead of an offering like this. It really depends on the person as well, some people can make more use of this and fusion tracking is free so not really complaining here rather just stating my opinion.

I agree it is brilliant job on the product development side giving the consumer a choice to upgrade. The market strategy is catering to cost conscious customers...hence why Trackman does not want to enter this segment and foresight reluctantly entered due to Bushnell buying them out. The alternative was releasing it as a 3k product, which they would have to justify a relatively large unique selling proposal to consumers against the entrenched sky track. I will not rehash the pros and cons of each unit at the 2k price point, because each of us bought it for a different reason. However, the Garmin r10 while a good unit is no where near as good if you are serious about getting better in the low handicap range. Simply put it cannot measure spin...at all....thus the more you deviate from straight shots, the larger the error in shot shape. Any unit can measure ballspeed and carry quite good which is what most golfers are really after. There are a lot of people that think more data must be better, but it is actually the quality of what is important and knowing how to use that data that is pragmatically most important. In that regard the pro plus does not enhance the accuracy, so from a consumer standpoint, why do you want to upgrade? If you know basic flight laws, in my opinion the pro package adds nothing. Now if it made spin more accurate at 8 ft indoors, that is a different story. Wanting data for the sake of having it without really knowing how it will enhance your game is just pissing money away in my opinion. Another way to think about it, is if you went to a driving range and it cost you 20$ to rent a mevo, $100 to rent a mevo+ or $500 to rent an x3, which would you get if you were constrained by money (as most of us are)? As a very low handicap, an X3 is not going to help me get any better at this point, so I would take the mevo+ and spend the extra money on lessons or a different club shaft. Now if my goal was get adept at shaping shaping, I would be more interested in knowing the face/path measure measurements the pro package offers with better resolution than know basic flight laws

@Blayckyatx - FYI - the R10 got a firmware update and it does measure spin outdoors (with more than 20 meters of fight). For limited flight sim play though it still does not so M+ has a decided leg up.

          Hi Blackyatx

I've been using skytrak since March 17 and R10 since last week.

I already prefer R10 to skytrak and trust me, I love my skytrak.

R10 gives me more accurate Clubspeed (yes i know about skytrak) ball speeds about the same skytrak can still hover on the lower side.

I'm low single figure handicap, and know my launch monitor numbers, I need 27 putts a round if I want to be a + handicap, no launch monitor or equipment/shaft can give me the touch and feel I need around the greens.

R10 gives me angle of attack and face to path, while not 100% accurate, its more than accurate enough for me and this is the thing that has surprised me most. All my numbers are in the range i expect to see them for AOA & FTP.

Skytrak has it on spin reading, but only on the driver as far as i can see, I am using a very short range for R10, 8ft at most ball to net.

Skytrak has the putting advantage of 6ft gimmes for TGC.

I'm thinking that currently the only extra thing MEVO + will give me is Low point.

I don't think driver will ever be spot on for Mevo + as it would butcher sales of flightscopes top end product in my opinion.

Some people on this forum have said that the metal dots don't make much difference to mevo+ indoor spin readings (don't know how true this is) R10 spin is always were I expect it to be, a little high with driver on my short ball to net setup right now.

If TGC2019 was not an option and I had to choose skytrak or R10, I would go R10 today.

I'll go to Mevo+ with pro add on if its really good, but I have a feeling something new will hit the market soon.

It's obvious that no matter which way Flightscope tried to deliver this Pro package ( other than a free software upgrade) we would complain as a group. I totally get every single discussion presented on this thread and agree with everyone. I personally will be getting the Pro package as I want the club data for my son who plays college golf and trains on a Trackman with his coach . Flightscopes approach is similar to the GC Quad with their club measurement or putting analysis software add on but a hell of a lot cheaper. At the end of the day each of us has to decide if it's needed (ie club data) , potentially accurate enough and if so worth it for that price point.

Years ago we had many discussions on what is more important ball data or club data. Obviously both are nice If measured accurately but what is more important? That is a personal decision that we all have to decide when considering the Pro package.

Agreed.. I have a daughter playing college golf... they use a Flightscope at school. It will be nice to have club data, so I'll be getting pro package.

I'm just really glad Flightscope avoided the subscription model...

Saw that on Scott's channel this morning. Still some driver issues but it's encouraging how close the readings were for most of the rest of the bag, especially into approach clubs and wedges.

          The poor Kit, though.

So FS is offering the 10% discount on Pro Package to anyone this week, plus $200 off the Mevo+ (both PGA Show Specials). So in reality the loyalty discount extended to existing users is kind of BS.
I understand that they don't want to inflate the 3rd party market on used units by offering a deep Pro package deal, but at least just offer one PGA Show special, not both.
Really disappointed in FS right now

FWIW, I plan on getting the Pro Package, regardless of discount.

10% seems fair enough. Sure, I'd like more.

But I honestly think my reward for being an early adopter of this technology is the fact that I've been able to play golf in my garage for the past 2 years. This contraption saved my sanity during lockdown at the height of the pandemic.

So I'm "all-in" on continuing to support Flightscope's product. And I really don't care how much FS discounts their hardware to current or future buyers. I hope they sell a whole-freaking-lot of units. Go FS GO!

            just my half-nickel...

Just know it won't be operational until the app upgrade on February 1.

I'm proud I went with FlightScope for the OG MEVO and the MEVO+. I think their commitment to product improvement and consumer satisfaction is stellar.

games - Once the firmware update is completed won't the unit start using the camera in addition to the radar to measure the current data parameters? So all of the current data should be immediately "better". Not sure how much though. The new app coming 2/1 will have placeholders for all of the new pro package information - should folks purchase it.

I think that depends on how good your data was already and a number of environmental factors. A dimly-lit 8' flight may not see any improvement at all, a far as we know.

i updated to the new firmware today in hopes that Fusion Tracking was enabled....it is not yet...although i do see some improvements in being able to see bump n run chips, there are still some issues with chipping as far as launch angle...had a few 15yard pitches that read at 42 degree launch angle

Fusion Tracking will not be implemented until February 1st rollout along with their FS Golf app update
