Here are a couple of pictures of my set up with 16' foot sportscreen, I am eventually going to cut it down to about 13'. I can't get my projector any farther back with the way my garage is setup. I recently upgraded from a net return home to the sportscreen. I was considering doing a framed screen that I could hinge up to the ceiling. but the sportscreen is so much easier. I can put everything away in about 3 minutes and park two cars in my garage. The manual crank isn't hard but it takes lots of cranks, with the drill and the screw hook it takes about 10 seconds.

Love the crank idea with drill.

Rockstar1974 Can you post a pic of your ceiling protection? How are you preventing a ball from hitting the crossbar? Also, your yellow hook, where did you get that? I've seen them that you would screw into wood, but don't recall seeing one with a smooth shank to go into a drill. Slick idea for the power mechanism.

I would imagine the wood screw shank will work. Just tighten in your drills chuck enough. Or if u gave a grinder just grind or file threads down a little

I don't have anything protecting the crossbar, I haven't hit it yet, I suppose I could if I hit some high lob wedges. I had to put some up some ceiling protection for wedge shots that bounce up and back off of my screen. It is just a 10 x 10 golf net that I folded in half and hung with some hooks. I didn't do anything to the yellow screw. It still has the threads on it. The yellow hook is something I have had for a while. I am sure you can find something like that at Home Depot or Lowes. It may not have the rubber coating on it but a bigger screw hook will work too.

Here’s my electric SportScreen with Par2Pro SQHQ screen. Still waiting for my ceiling protection to arrive from Par2Pro (hopefully this week) and then I’ll get a V3 build thread uploaded.
Can’t hit anything more lofted than a 7 iron at the moment, otherwise the deflection bounces up and off the ceiling!

So do you think the bounce back is from the tension in the SportScreen or something else not causing the impact to be absorbed and having the ball dropping straight down? Also how far from the back wall did you mount it? Thanks!

I’m 17” away from the wall - purely as I have a cable hatch on my ceiling that I didn’t want to cover. I’d have probably gone with 12” normally.

All I have is the SportScreen backing and then the Par2Pro screen. The bounce back is similar to the setup I previously had with an SQHQ screen and a backing net bungees to a metal frame. The angle of the ball going into the screen makes it inevitable that it’s going to bounce up rather than down!

How are you planning on doing ceiling protection? Will it also prevent balls from hitting the crossbar?

I’ve attached a diagram below. I don’t think there is any way I’d actually hit the roller... but this should give it some protection just incase. I’m more worried about my ceiling getting peppered from rebounds!!

This is what I’m going with. 2 x 4’ bits of wood that are 4” high. One at either side of the roller. The net will be attached at various points along the length - screwed into eyelets.

p3eps Rockstar1974 I have another question for you guys. Can you tell me approximately how wide the roll is when you have the screen/net rolled completely up? Reason i ask is, for one wall i only have 10" from the inside of my garage door track to the wall. I know people have done close to wall setups and I can plan for this with some additional padding, but not sure I have enough space if the roll is quite wide with everything rolled up. I have issues on every wall so I'm trying to figure out which has the least and go with that.

There’s not much to be honest. I’d say I’ve got 6” of ‘roll’ in total including the SQHQ screen... so 3” either side of the center of the bracket.

Does anyone use the Sport Screen as a side barrier? I wonder at this price if it’s worth buying 10’ for side protection. I am moving from a Net Return Pro and have never had issues with ball skimming off net and hitting anything. I will be using the 16” sport screen with the SQ Custom Screen from Par2Pro.

I think Lamar Young is doing this with his set up but was not able to find his post of his build. I did find where he commented on this post with his pictures though post#2 https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...om-design-golf

And at this price point it is a GREAT idea!

Box showed up and it looks like it's been drug behind the delivery van the whole way. I'll check tonight to see if everything is ok. I'm really hoping these weren't returns or something as I also ordered a 10' one for side protection. I figured due to price, i couldn't resist. It was cheaper than buying just the brackets.

If it’s any consolation, mine arrived directly from SportScreen, and there were 2 of the 3 roller sections had dents in them, and the inter-joining pieces were the wrong size! It had travelled from Canada to the UK though - although that doesn’t excuse the incorrect pieces. Credit to the guys at SportScreen though - I had a replacement in the UK in under a week!!

Mine arrived today. Box looked iffy but inside was perfect. It’s an awkward size heavy box so par for the course I guess.

Mine should be here towards the end of this week or beginning of next week. Y'all are getting me worried as I already took down my EMT and boxed up my archery netting to send it back. Found out I am not able to return the EMT corner fittings so not sure what I will end up doing with those and can only return 2 of the 10' EMT sections as I cut the other poles... Hoping all is well with these!

It was manual only. However, a few posts earlier, someone put a hook into a drill to use as the motor. Very slick DIY hack.

Manual only is all you need... it literally takes 30 seconds to roll the thing up. Not worth the extra hundreds of dollars.

I think it was 70 for the 16' and 56 for the 10'. And free shipping with Amazon prime. Didn't really need them, but was considering changing around my screen to go wider and for the price, I figured why not.

I picked up one of these at a hockey store in Canada. My next step is to contact a company that sells tarps and get a custom screen made. I am thinking about using this company https://www.heavydutytarps.ca/blogpo...ulator-screens

They can add velcro and pockets for pipes. I might try a large pocket at the top and velcro in the middle and replace the sports screen with a custom tarp
