  • Want to Buy: Carl's vs Par2par Impact Screen

Looking into options for impact screens. Definitely planning a retractable screen with lower flap anchored to floor. Carl's would be a preferred or premium impact screen. On the Par2par was thinking Custom SQ Impact Screen. Any feedback on either would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions as well. Will have 4.3 ratio size would be 8x10.5. Also now adding possibly West Coast Netting Cage so thonking of using there PR 20 white impact screem

Secondary question would be ideas for behind screen. From what I hear matteras toppers and or memory form on back and netting to save wall from damage.

The feedback on this forum is that you cannot go wrong with either.
Everyone seems to be happy with the quality and durability.
I myself have a Carl’s Preferred, zero issues.

Found West coast Netting from countless hours reading since meeting you. My only fear with Carl's enclosure is depth and strength to protect walls. Found this cage of netting
      http://www.westcoastnetting.com/nett...-custom-1.html

Now my problem is does buying Carl's screen vs there PR white archery impact screen will they work together .. Definitely having friend powder coat EMT Pipes Black. What a look

I have planned where in garage want to have the simulator. Decided against under garage rails since height not ideal. Was going to cut rails away and leave side closed off. But decided moving shelving on back wall and taking 2ft of space out of utility closet is what my plan will be. Area will be 12 ft wide by 8.5 ft high and have 14.5 ft deep. Alpha have drawing will post soon. Hooked. First step is opening away clearing shelvong plan on probably started with mat and ur net in area. Then add cage, impact screem. Follow up with Skytrac and projector

based on the direct from the mill thread, id recommend par2pro because carl's doesn't practice consumer friendly practices.

May need more information on the situation. First impression was it was Carl’s, not sure based on what’s in the thread now

I’ve had no issues with Carl’s, in fact, earned a discount from them by identifying a pricing error on their website.

I can also say that Carl's has always been very friendly with this consumer, I highly recommend them. Not that I have anything against Par2Pro either.

I have not used Carl's before but I can say that Par2Pro SQ screen is excellent in all ways and their staff are wonderful to work with! Still work in progress but here is the sim room - need to enclose the ceiling. Will upload some pics with the projector on so you can see the resolution. Click image for larger version

How did you tell which side of screen was front viewing side when unboxing?

I absolutely love my Carl's impact screen and have had no problems in just over 1 year of constant use. I hit balls about 3 - 5 times per week and really enjoy my SkyTrak and now TGC 2019 Alpha version!

My Par2pro SQ screen just got shipped and tracking says it's from West Coast Netting. Anyone know which screen the SQ is at West Coast netting?

my guess would be the PR40. The PR20 is really a form of archery netting - usable but low quality for projection.

They are all homemade, and not sure I would do it again to be honest. They take too long to make, and a few are starting to show wrinkles as I did not heat and stretch the vinyl well-enough. I also learned to make your backing material smaller than your foam pad size, as once you wrap the vinyl around it, the foam crushes a bit. The backing material (MDF) then sticks out further than the foam. Lessons learned - the hard way! I can send you specifics on the materials, although, not sure I suggest tackling it. Just too much labor!

Brought from Carl's three times. They always treat me like I'm their only customer. Nothing against the other guys. Just tried Carl's once and no reason to switch.

They've even taken some of my friends as customers.

Carls rocks thanks triple! I just received my premium screen 13ft x 10ft. It's very quiet and the image looks great. The grommets make hanging it a breeze. My first screen was 13x8ft raw and I used tarp clips. It had a bit more bleed through was more difficult to hang. I used that one for 3 or 4 months. It worked great but now it's folded up in a box. Both screens were worked great but I can see why the premium is a premium!
